My Nail Color is chip-free with Essie Nail Polish

I have had countless trips to salons since high school to have my nails perked. I’ve never known until now that there’s something such as a base coat and a top coat that need to be applied to keep nails from the sallow, unhealthy stain that’s usually left by nail polishes, and to keep those polishes last longer and from chipping. I always thought that the top coat has the same ingredient as the usual colorless nail polish, but with Essie, it’s kinda different–so does its nail color.

I chanced upon using Essie to update my nail color when I had my feet pampered care of Nail Spa in Shangri la. It was my first time trying Essie since it’s really one expensive nail color. A bottle of this would cost me around P 700, which is quite impractical to get such here in the Philippines unless I’m filthy rich. Anyway, as I tried it on, I noticed that the pedicurist made a wonderful job on applying it flawlessly. It looked like so acrylic! I’ve tried several nail polishes before including orly, sally hansen, lancome, dior, etc and it was only Essie that I found such bliss. Plus, it’s also a tough nut to crack! What I mean is, the nail polish didn’t chip for quite a while, nor even lose/fade its color. I had my nails done 3 weeks ago and it looked as they were just done last week!

Because of my newfound affinity and knack for choosing nail polishes and colors, I decided to have both my hands and feet tinged with Essie. Unfortunately, the manicurist didn’t make a great job on my hands the way the pedicurist did. It kind of looked terrible, as if I were to wear this cheap nail polish from Twinkle (in which, by the way, I tried and sucked on applying it). The colors wasn’t as even as the ones on my feet, so it didn’t look acrylic-ish. I was kind of disappointed that then, since I paid a tad extra moolah to get my nails colored through Essie. That’s when I realized that it’s not enough to get a good nail polish. I should also get someone who has an extraordinary talent to wield this lavish nail polish perfectly.

For those who wanna try Essie, just make sure to have it completely dried before strolling and sauntering like crazy, for fear that you may have a tendency to bump your toenails or fingernails by accident resulting to freaky coat damage. Unlike other nail polishes, Essie, surprisingly, dries quickly. So, you won’t have a problem waiting steadfastly for hours before it totally dries. To minimize your idle time of waiting, you may put a trickle of quick-dry oil after applying the top coat.
