Ilog Maria Shopping!
Posted by roanne in Ilog Maria, Personal Moods on May 9, 2007
I was kind of influenced by Sophie to try out Ilog Maria‘s all-natural honey products. I love honey! I remember I used to take a spoonful of it when I was young. We had a regular supply of honey before coming straight from Greece!
Sadly, we can hardly get such honey since my mom went back here in the Philippines for good. Anyways, she use to buy a bottle of honey from a nearby supermarket. However, I don’t appreciate its taste ‘coz I have doubts that it might not really be pure honey. Its taste is far cry from the Greek honey I was used to. It’s too saccharine, or I should say, sugary in taste.
Great thing I’ve just found out this site. I am so ecstatic waiting for my Ilog Maria haul right now. I have bought not only the virgin honey but also some small sizes of fresh bee pollen and propolis gold, honey facial scrub, honey cleanser and moisturizer and a whole lot more! I also enticed my officemate to try out and she obliged. =)
Geez, I’m so excited for my loot to arrive!

How to feel & look beautiful? (despite the sweltering weather!)
Posted by roanne in Personal Moods, Product Reviews, Skin Care, Tips on May 8, 2007
Some people curse Summer. I used to be one of those people who don’t appreciate the humid-free season. But, I finally get used to it in spite of being soaked in sweat every time I travel to the office!
Summer is a season for baring it all! Well, it’s only the season when I can don a skimpy pair of two-piece bikini that exposes much of my skin and head towards the beach for a refreshing swim. It’s also the season for alleviating putting loads of makeup lest I may look cakey and pasty, and religiously wearing a moisturizer with SPF specially in the morning. I’ve been doing a lot of beauty and mantras and ditching the old or seasonal ones (things that I only do during the cold ‘ber season) to make my summer escapade shining through…starting from my facade.
To answer the question, feeling and looking beautiful starts on mustering more confidence that radiates your beauty inside out.
From the outside, it all starts with having beautiful skin
I must admit that I’m not just blemish-free yet, but I have made a lot of improvements to my skin. Yet I believe that you cannot just simply pull off a deep halter top to make an alluring statement if you’ve got a colony of back-nes and chest-nes here and there. That’s kind of awkward to flaunt such getup before the prying eyes of the nasty critiques out there. If you are having a hard time breaking out (pun intended) on breakouts, better consult a good dermatologist first.
For maintenance and more Summer lovin’, here’s to sharing my personal POVs to you

My Nail Color is chip-free with Essie Nail Polish
Posted by roanne in Beauty Reviews, Essie, Nail Care, Nail Polish on May 3, 2007

I have had countless trips to salons since high school to have my nails perked. I’ve never known until now that there’s something such as a base coat and a top coat that need to be applied to keep nails from the sallow, unhealthy stain that’s usually left by nail polishes, and to keep those polishes last longer and from chipping. I always thought that the top coat has the same ingredient as the usual colorless nail polish, but with Essie, it’s kinda different–so does its nail color.
I chanced upon using Essie to update my nail color when I had my feet pampered care of Nail Spa in Shangri la. It was my first time trying Essie since it’s really one expensive nail color. A bottle of this would cost me around P 700, which is quite impractical to get such here in the Philippines unless I’m filthy rich. Anyway, as I tried it on, I noticed that the pedicurist made a wonderful job on applying it flawlessly. It looked like so acrylic! I’ve tried several nail polishes before including orly, sally hansen, lancome, dior, etc and it was only Essie that I found such bliss. Plus, it’s also a tough nut to crack! What I mean is, the nail polish didn’t chip for quite a while, nor even lose/fade its color. I had my nails done 3 weeks ago and it looked as they were just done last week!
