Who doesn’t know Belo in the Philippines? Anyone would be ecstatic upon getting to know this famous dermatologist who does wonders on the stars’ flawless skin and hour-glass figure–making them shine and stand out.
And yes, I’m talking about celebrities.
Belo is one of the most sought-after doctors today, particularly those old and nouveau rich who can afford her lavish, sky-high beautifying treatments a common layman can hardly experience. If I were pretty wealthy and imeldific enough to avail her intense Obagi treatments, I’d do so without thinking. But, unfortunately, I don’t have enough moolahs to spare for $500 outright! Inasmuch as I wanna have a smooth, flawless complexion, I’d rather go get myself a laptop.
I don’t say that I don’t go to the dermatologist. Ironically, I do. I spend $500 or more — but it isn’t in one sitting though.
Going back, I recently discovered the new face of Belo. This time, it’s cheaper — a way affordable by the masses.
Belo Medical Group recently launched its new line of el-cheapo skin whitening products called Belo Essentials. At first thought, I was skeptical about getting one lest they might be fake–talk about copyright infringement. But then, I was able to scrutinize one product and read what’s on the literature:
The skin care experts at Belo Medical Group bring you a line of scientifically formulated products that naturally rejuvenates and whitens your skin. A body bar that lightens skin naturally and safely with its dermlight skin system–a combination of alpine plant extracts, California prune fruit pulp, and skin vitamins.
*Reduces skin darkening by inhibiting tyrosinase, which leads to melanin buildup. This ensures faster, more visible whitening results.
Good thing they wrote it perfectly, isolating themselves from the rest of poorly-written description of other Asian products. It actually makes it reliable. And for more viable proof, checkout the Manila Bulletin or Philippine Star online. They got articles about the launch, which explains everything.
Anyways, I got myself a Belo Essentials Whitening body bar in blue variant (the other one is pink. It has additional microbeads mainly for exfoliation, as I surmise), which is quite obvious on the above description. I’m currently using it right now. All I can say is that it’s far better than your average whitening soap which are usually infused with fruit acids. This one is moisturizing like Dove, though unlike the latter, it doesn’t leave an sticky, slippery feel as if you didn’t have it washed. I also love its mild soap scent. And best of all, I just love its so worth-it price!
Aside from the body bar, there are lotions and facial washes included. Hereunder is the complete product catalog. Take your pick!

I guess spending 38 pesos doesn’t really hurt on my pocket, specially if the product’s really great, and it’s Belo!
