…and it all goes down with UNO.
Posted by roanne in Personal Moods, UNO Cards on August 10, 2009

Being way past your teenage years doesn’t mean giving up on everything juvenile. I just came across my “inner child” whilst shopping with my grand mom for some gifts. I spotted a deck full of UNO cards sitting pretty on the cashier’s desk. Without hesitation, I grabbed and paid for one in addition with this set of colorful stackers I got from Chicco (the latter as a gift)
It’s been like more than a decade since I last played this ridiculously fun and taunting card game. Well, all games are taunting, aren’t they?
Anyhoo, it’s much fun since you could get as many players as long as the cards can handle…more like 8 or so[?], unlike UNO Stacko. The objective is to finish the play by getting rid of all your cards before someone does it first. There are action cards available (such as reverse, skip, draw two, wild card and wild card + draw 4) you can use to get in control of the game [and get your opponents busted as well]!
So there, it wasn’t really all that bad owning a childhood favorite set of game cards. I think there’s no excuse whether you’re young and old, as long as you’re not inept to grasp the rules of the game. So there, even adults like me, my aunt, my cousins and my mom joined the fun, too, along with my younger cousins and siblings.
UPDATED: Wish list of the Month
I’ve been laying off shopping for makeup, ‘coz I think I have too much and I don’t use them all the time. Actually, here’s a secret: it’s better for my skin to go au naturel for the rest of the day, than to smother it with lots of foundation, bronzer, highlighter and blusher. But hey, vanity is a sin I can hardly recover from. So, expect some dolled up moments still.
Come September, and I’m finally going to hit the shores of Kalibo, Aklan. I’m oddly nervous and excited for this trip. Nervous, because I’m still amid losing weight. I need to be bikini-ready on that very day!
Excited, ‘coz it’ll be my first time seeing this lovely beach paradise called Boracay. It’s a total escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I wasn’t really much of a traveler, until I set afoot to Europe a few months ago.
Enough gab, here’s some stuff I need to shop:
*Another pair of sunglasses – check!
*Goggles – check!
*Beach wear – check! (Mango sale was such a blessing, but I’m still eying for a pair of shorts though. Hello, TopShop!) Heck. Just got a pair of MOTO shorts last weekend!
*SPF – check! (Still have my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block intact, not to mention lovin’ it!)
*Dry Oil Mist/Body Polish – check! (My Cake Beauty Body Glaze has the works!)
* Board Shorts
* Travel Bag (not that I’m in dire need of one) – maybe NEXT TIME!
* Beachy-not-Bitchy Dress (no particular brand. I’m thinking of something Korean right now
)- also NEXT TIME! I’ve had enough stuff from Tokyo coming this Oct.
* Comfy footwear (Crocs, Birkenstocks, Ipanema, whatever) – got a lovely pair from Ipanema. Soo happy yet soo guilty! ![]()
* Bikini Bottom/Another fab pair of bikinis
Gah, I’m not sure whether I can get ‘em all with this short period of time, considering my oh-so-awful last month when I lost more than $100 from the ATM machine (please don’t try withdrawing from Robinson’s Bank!).
It was somewhat infuriating that my bank wasn’t able to do anything to resolve the incident.
Oh my, I think it’s time to get some freelance work!
