Maria is the brainchild of designer Isa Alvarez. It is A line of clothing, bags, and in the near future, accessories, gadgets, gizmos and other thingamajigs. Maria was created out of love for pure fun and things that don’t make sense.

Often asked what her inspiration for Maria is, she gets stumped when answering because Maria was not born out of a single idea or a single spark of inspiration. It was created out of a jimble-jumble of things and life experiences that got her to this point. All that being said, most of the time she’ll just say:

“I just like to make pretty things.”

Valentino caught most of my attention. Since one of my favorite designers has just retired, Alessandra Facchinetti made a great job as she filled in his shoes and designed the pret-a-porter collection for this year’s Fall/Winter–which did not fail to be lavishly posh and elegant. Looks like dark tinged hosiery and high-heeled platforms are still in. The House of Valentino’s structured jackets are so lovely to use as office wear, while the dresses really spell ethereal. Truly, every piece is timeless and a cult favorite, so does the retired designer *sob*. Au Revoir, Valentino!
