Going back, I hurriedly rushed on creating my first look as soon as I learned about the contest. Not that I’m in dire need of a new phone, I’m just interested in joining and see if I got what it takes to win or to have my style noticed at least. I quickly submitted my first work as soon as I’m done mixing and matching stuff for my doll. And then, I jumped onto my second look, and my third, fourth…it doesn’t stop there!

Simply put: I got hooked. It was very time-consuming, yet it actually teases my imagination and stirs my creative juices at the very least. It’s nice coming up with a few pieces that’s so faboosh (well IMO)–something I’d like myself to wear on any day.

Here’s some of the looks I created:

*Palettes are so basic. Just black, ecru and tan. Looks casual, yet sosyal. Parang CVS style.*

*The key item is the lovely floral tulip skirt that matches well with the Victorian collared top. I’m beginning to love the clean, elegant look! *

*I was also trying to put something classy here, until I was sold out on the sheer blue stockings & blue open-toed wedges.*

*This one is obviously Japanese street style inspired. Tights are very Tokidoki-sh. Overall, it looks like a Harajuku local to me. *

*Hippie look I pulled off that mostly Looklet users love. I wonder why, coz I’m not a “hippie” kinda person/stylist*

If you’re curious about why the heck my name is Luca Brouhaha, Luca is gotten from “Luca Luca” (a fashion label) while Brouhaha simply means “commotion” or “hoopla”. On a dumber more ludicrous level, Luca sounds like “loka-loka” (crazy) while Brouhaha sounds like “bruha” (hag). So yes, you’re completely right about what you’re thinking. I’m a crazy hag.

However, this is my only rant on a technical note. Looklet seriously needs more bandwidth, or a change in hosting. I’m experiencing so many downtimes especially recently, and it really annoys me when I can’t save my work when that happens, forcing me to start again (and again!) from scratch.

Some of the clothes don’t fit well on the model, which makes it really weird to look at when applied. Hello floating cape?

All in all, I still love Looklet, given the unpredictable downtimes. I heart the “realistic” dress-up concept; this time, it’s no longer cartoonish Japanese or Korean paper dolls. I just hope they’re gonna fix those technical glitches on their site ASAP, to better drive in more and more visitors. After all, more than fashion, it’s user-experience that matters!

Recently, I stumbled upon this ultimately gorgeous laptop from Gizmag, as it showcased the Tulip E-Go Diamond that costs a hefty $350,000! Well, that’d certainly cost me a not just an arm and a leg, but a head.

Released late in 2006 in the US, the laptop certainly looks like the iBook G3–the clamshell laptop released by Apple way back in 1999, that looks like a powder/mirror compact. The only difference, aesthetically aside from the “tulip logo”, is that you can customize the laptop skin by choosing from the wide arrays of lovely interchangeable skins available. It also comes with a matching sophisticated laptop bag.

Japanese Street Style proves to be unique, trendy and colorful. Every ensemble is so iridescent, you won’t get bored looking at them. Though some may think it’s a fashion overkill, I, on the other hand, beg to differ. It’s really amazing how these people pull off different (sometimes contrasting) prints, patterns and fabrics and put them altogether. Surprisingly, they make this audacious style work quite well!

I haven’t really donned something like this in the Philippines. Well, it’s because of the given tropical weather that holds me back to layer clothes, lest I would end up being drenched, or worse, soaked with sweat. However, there are some moments, particularly events, that pumps up my creative juices which make me wear a stylish, colorful garb without getting overblown by prints and patterns–consider it a moderate Japanese Street Style.

*Lovely monochromatic colors with hot pink & purple hues as contrast. Combining leather, satin and suede is just awesome!*

*This brown and black ensemble is so chic and fab. I heart the fur-collared trench coat the most.

*This is my current favorite among others. This khaki and brown combo is so cute and girly, I heart everything here–from the ear mufflers down to the boots. I think I saw the boots in Kenneth Cole before *

Her name is Naomi Yotsumoto. While she’s been known and sought after by local and international press after donning trendy Japanese street inspired outfits during her matches, Naomi Yotsumoto is one of Japan’s star table tennis players! She actually placed second on the National Mixed Doubles competition this year. What a way to lure the audience and draw support n a cute, colorful and uberly stylish way!

She has her own TV show and a published autobiography to boot!

Now, we’ve got someone to be proud of, aside from Manny Pacquiao who won his 4th world boxing title while ago.

Just passed by Jenni Epperson‘s blog last, last time and found out the UK’s Project Catwalk Season 3 winner is Jasper Garvida, and he’s a Filipino.

His creations are downright gorgeous and avant-garde. I remember Project Runway’s Christian Siriano in him.

Each piece is playful and colorful without losing its sophistication. Makes me think of a whimsical fairy tale garb, say Alice in Wonderland(?), with so much attitude. Now, I’m inspired to create some sketches that’ll be at par with these:

*Lovely, Colorful and Playful Collection*

David & Goliath has just arrived in the Philippines and is making raves in the glossy sheets of some of the Philippines’ finest magazines and newspapers, which piques my curiosity. “What/Who the heck is David & Goliath?”

An American company founded by Todd Goldman, the company name is derived from his father’s first name (David) and his dog’s (Goliath). In contrary something biblical and didactic, what makes this clothing company extra special is its collection of statement tees that really spell naughty and acerbic. With its launch of the Little Losers collection, I can say that’s something-something D&G (not Dolce & Gabbana) has to offer, and stands out from the rest of the statement tees troupe.

Speaking of Little losers, this collection features 57 characters and priced at Php 995 each. It may seem a bit pricey, but worth the shot if you’re taking heed for the cuteness factor of this stuff. Each character is wittily drawn adding a sense of hilarity. Grab one now at any David & Goliath stores located in Bonifacio High Street, Rockwell Powerplant Mall, TriNoma, Robinsons Place Manila, Greenbelt 5 and Rustan’s Makati.

Christian Siriano, the youngest of Fashion Runway’s Season 4 contestants, has been my favorite among others. It wasn’t such a surprise when I found out that he’s this season’s big winner. I love his bold, ruffled avant-garde pieces. So one time, I decided to sketch something that’s Siriano inspired (from his Fall 2008 collection).

Indulge for another moment of crappiness. lol.

Valentino caught most of my attention. Since one of my favorite designers has just retired, Alessandra Facchinetti made a great job as she filled in his shoes and designed the pret-a-porter collection for this year’s Fall/Winter–which did not fail to be lavishly posh and elegant. Looks like dark tinged hosiery and high-heeled platforms are still in. The House of Valentino’s structured jackets are so lovely to use as office wear, while the dresses really spell ethereal. Truly, every piece is timeless and a cult favorite, so does the retired designer *sob*. Au Revoir, Valentino!
