Project Catwalk’s Winner is Jasper Garvida, a Filipino!

It’s been a long while since I last posted. Hence, here it is!
Now, we’ve got someone to be proud of, aside from Manny Pacquiao who won his 4th world boxing title while ago.
Just passed by Jenni Epperson‘s blog last, last time and found out the UK’s Project Catwalk Season 3 winner is Jasper Garvida, and he’s a Filipino.
His creations are downright gorgeous and avant-garde. I remember Project Runway’s Christian Siriano in him.
Each piece is playful and colorful without losing its sophistication. Makes me think of a whimsical fairy tale garb, say Alice in Wonderland(?), with so much attitude. Now, I’m inspired to create some sketches that’ll be at par with these: Read the rest of this entry »
Make a Statement with David & Goliath.

Aside from deconstructed shirts, scintillating sequin or bead studded tops/dresses or multicolored (or multi-printed) frocks, statement tees are a unique way of calling people’s attention. I don’t have an extensive collection of statement tees but I can recall at least one or two. Remember the infamous “I’m with stupid (with an arrow pointing somewhere)” tee? Oh yeah, I used to wear that during college.
David & Goliath has just arrived in the Philippines and is making raves in the glossy sheets of some of the Philippines’ finest magazines and newspapers, which piques my curiosity. “What/Who the heck is David & Goliath?”

*Lurve, lurve, lurve the ruffled jacket-belt ensemble!*
Christian Siriano, the youngest of Fashion Runway’s Season 4 contestants, has been my favorite among others. It wasn’t such a surprise when I found out that he’s this season’s big winner.
