Oh well, back to blogging business…sort of.

I’m taking this very opportunity to post whilst uploading something that I’ll be doing later. Y’know, someone’s got a day job. I just had a breather from a “major, major” project, but it seems that it’s back for good starting today.

Anyway, it won’t stop me from sneaking out in between and type stuff here, will it? :P

Hopefully, I won’t be just blogging about music (my other love) and food (my reason for being). For sure, it will still be filled with things that are less interesting, but better be bland than never! Okay, that’s just a fugly wordplay I did there. :D

Since part of me is a girl who wants to be primped, prettified and pampered, let me plug something that’s gonna happen in 3 days time. So, you want shopping, eh?

Beauty and Minerals Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar 2010

Beauty and Minerals will have a booth at the upcoming Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar this October 15-17, 2010. If you don’t know Beauty and Minerals, it’s either you’re not a girl, or you don’t happen to doll yourself up at all. Now’s your chance to do the latter, and impress the boys (or girls for that matter since some guys wear makeup as well lolol).

Get up-close and personal with your favorite mineral makeup brands such as Monave and Valerie, as well as Blinc cosmetics. You can also check out My Intimate bra straps (that I sometimes use to prevent my straps from peeking outside my racerback shirt) and Charm makeup brushes.

No excuses for those who are currently broke ‘coz the bazaar is on payday! :P

Lancome’s Color Fever Dewy Shine Bitten Lips

Lancome Color Fever Dewy Shine Bitten Lips AdOh well, this is another dose of my personal beauty blogging. ;)

Rain or shine, summer is still bringing some heat waves into our wardrobe. Aside from updating your clothing from trench coats to floral summer dresses, have your overall look updated as well. The beach goddess look is “in” once again, as baring it all is on fire! That is, wearing less makeup or none at all! In this humid weather, you better skip on those heavy foundations and smoky eye shadows, and bring out your tinted moisturizers and bronzers to adapt the oh-so-hot summer look!

And so, Lancome has something in store for you. Check out its two lines of Color Fever Dewy Shine Bitten Lips lipstick that gives you a just-bitten, natural lip color–as if you’re not wearing any lipstick at all!

Lancome Color Fever Dewy Shine Glowy Bitten Lips: almost innocent sensuality…

Lancôme reinvents Color Fever Dewy Shine’s mythical design in a limited edition Glowy Bitten Lips: the cap is adorned with a large filigree rose, reflecting the brand emblem and haloed in a beige glow. – Lancome

MAC vs. Shu Uemura.

Been back to Beauty Blogging here, indefinitely.

Shu Uemura vs MAC

I always have been a MAC fan–not Macintosh, should you presume. I have my love for MAC Cosmetics since I first tried to put some makeup.

For the base, I used to love MAC Studio fix. It may be really heavy on the skin, so a pat here and there does the trick in pronto. It really really blends well, and holds the concealer into place sans smudging it or making it look obvious.

I don’t know if there’s been a change in formulation, but recently, I’ve been hating MAC Studio fix. It now tends to cake and streak on the skin; it’s not that buildable anymore. The compact also has a tendency to solidify, making it a lot harder for the sponge to get enough powder onto it.

To mitigate my annoyance, I decided to explore using a new brand for my base. There you go, I got myself a Shu Uemura White Recovery RX Powder-Foundation. It has SPF of 22, which obviates the need to put on a sun block prior to application. It acts as a powder when used dry, or as a foundation when used wet. It’s sheerer than MAC Studio fix, that’s why it really feels light on the skin and smells great, too! The problem with this, however, is that the color is hardly buildable when used as a powder. It doesn’t actually cake or streak, but it doesn’t blend well to the skin, specially those parts over the concealer. Sometimes, I need to use my hands just as to blend it, which smudges the concealer and making my blemishes (dark spots) look more noticeable rather than camouflaged. Another thing is, it’s a lot more expensive. Read the rest of this entry »
