Black & White Portrait Shots.

First of all, let me greet ya a happy 2011! I know y’all enjoyed hogging and drinking to death, coz I did. ;) During the holidays, I usually got bored, and so I did some tinkering on my camera.

So what do we have here? Well, just some test shots using the monochromatic setting. Pardon for my subjects; they’re my folks who appear to be drunk camera whores most of the time. Of course, I’ll only share the “good” shots. Lol. The rest b/ws are pure utter rubbish.

At Kennon Road, Baguio City

Some random house in Kennon Road, Baguio City, Philippines

To be honest, I wasn’t really all that excited going back to Baguio. The place just looks like Manila. :( It’s sad that it’s too commercialized already. Maybe it’s just me, ‘coz I yearn for some rustic type of place whenever I go out-of-town.

Anyway, what’s nice about being in Baguio is the weather. Summer heat is much more bearable there than in the city. The weather was nice and a bit chilly when we got there, so strolling around wasn’t much of an ordeal. I also love Baguio’s ukay-ukay, lengua de gato, peanut brittle and even the sundot kulangot (some thick, sweetened coconut preserved encapsulated in a small circular fruit-like container).

If Manila has Luneta Park, Baguio has Burnham Park where you can enjoy a nice picnic under the less aggressive sun.

Guess the Flower.

Guess the Flower (c) 2009 I'm Roanne

My test shots were usually flowers and foliages from my humble abode’s “jungle” garden. Yes, I know, the front of our house is laden with all things botanical—usually flowering plants. The silver gate is filled with orchids and other kinds of pretty flowers hanging, rack by rack.

I took a shot on this red flower, and was bewildered myself on what kind of flower is this one. Hope you can clue me in. :)
